President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the formation of ecological culture a task enshrined in the Constitution. He stated this while speaking to participants of the Taza Kazakhstan campaign after planting trees in the Presidential Park, Akorda reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The head of state thanked the campaign participants and addressed the youth separately, who support environmental initiatives.
"Indeed, true love for the Motherland and native land always begins with small things — with care for one's own home, village and city," Tokayev said.
According to the president, a careful attitude toward nature is among the principles that were passed down from generation to generation and are now reflected in the new Constitution.
"We have to form a high ecological culture in society. I want to repeat once again: this is an extremely important task outlined in the Constitution," he said.
Tokayev added that work within the Taza Kazakhstan framework is being carried out, among other things, for the sake of the younger generation.
"Taza Kazakhstan is the guarantee of our bright future. This is not just a slogan, it is the main path to the bright future of our state," the president said.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Tokayev, together with representatives of youth and eco-activists, planted trees in the Presidential Park. Minister of Ecology Alibek Kuantyrov also reported that during the implementation of Taza Kazakhstan, more than 2 thousand events were held in the country, over 3.8 million tons of waste were collected and about 10 thousand landfills were eliminated.
