Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on National Dombra Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"Through the dombra, our deep-rooted national values resonate in people's memory and take a place of honor. Thus, continuity between eras and generations is preserved. Our sacred instrument, in both joyful and difficult times, strengthened our blessed unity and elevated the spirit of the nation. The sound of the dombra inspires our citizens and aligns with our spiritual guidelines aimed at confidently moving forward," Tokayev said.

According to him, in today's turbulent times, when global challenges intensify and traditional values fade, the rich heritage of the Great Steppe, especially our black dombra, remains the unshakable foundation of our national culture. Introducing the international community to the melodious sounds of the Kazakh dombra is our national duty.

"I believe that the wonderful comparison of the poet Kadir Myrza Ali, 'A true Kazakh is a dombra,' should serve as a guiding star in the widespread promotion of the dombra. On July 1, on the eve of Dombra Day, the People's Constitution came into force, opening a new page in the state chronicle. The preservation of historical and cultural heritage and support for national culture were for the first time defined as a fundamental principle of the truly people's Constitution," the president said.

Tokayev expressed gratitude to all those who, through their exemplary work and meaningful words, contribute to the high-level promotion of national art in Kazakhstan and abroad.
