President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who arrived in Astana on an official visit. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The head of state called Denmark a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in Northern Europe and the European Union. Next year marks 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"We regard Denmark as an authoritative and influential state in Europe and a reliable partner. I am confident that the potential of our bilateral cooperation is great. To fully use these opportunities, the parties need to work actively and purposefully in this direction," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

At the meeting, the positive dynamics of developing trade, economic and investment ties were noted. At the same time, according to the President, there are sufficient opportunities to deepen interaction.

The head of state welcomed the implementation by Carlsberg of a flagship investment project in the Almaty region and highly appreciated the company's contribution to advancing the food industry in Kazakhstan.

The head of Denmark's foreign policy department congratulated Kazakhstan on the upcoming 35th anniversary of its Independence and noted that the country has achieved significant success over these years. In addition, he confirmed Denmark's intention to further strengthen political dialogue with Kazakhstan and intensify trade and economic cooperation.

"Kazakhstan is considered the country with the largest economy in Central Asia. Many Danish companies operate here. They are interested in further expanding this partnership," said the Danish Foreign Minister.

In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Lars Løkke Rasmussen exchanged views on the prospects for strengthening interaction in the areas of transport and logistics, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, agriculture and water security.
