Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received US Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

At the start of the conversation, Gor delivered a personal message from US President Donald Trump to Tokayev with congratulations ahead of the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence.

The Head of State thanked the US President for his warm wishes and reaffirmed the invitation to the American leader to visit Kazakhstan.

Tokayev noted the dynamic development of the expanded Kazakh-American strategic partnership, emphasizing the particular importance of further strengthening interaction.

"I am currently preparing to participate in the G20 summit in Miami. I think this will also be a good opportunity to discuss bilateral agenda issues. We prefer not beautiful words, but concrete deeds and practical steps to advance our mutual cooperation," said the President of Kazakhstan.

Sergio Gor noted that thanks to close and trusting contacts between the leaders of Kazakhstan and the United States, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level.

"Today, trade and economic ties and interaction between our countries are actively developing. Our President pays great attention to strengthening partnership with Kazakhstan and Central Asia," noted the special envoy.

During the meeting, a number of important areas of joint work were also considered, with emphasis on such priority spheres as artificial intelligence and digitalization.

In conclusion, the interlocutors confirmed their desire to further expand multifaceted partnership and give additional impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Tokayev met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the XVIII BRICS summit.
