Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a series of brief meetings with state leaders and heads of international organizations on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Akorda reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The head of state met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye and Thai Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak Puangketkeo.
Tokayev also held talks with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus and World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
The interlocutors discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in various spheres and interaction in international formats. Akorda did not provide details of the meetings.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that on the sidelines of the BRICS summit Tokayev met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, as well as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After completing his visit to India, the president will travel to Seoul, where he will hold talks with South Korean leader Lee Jae-myung and take part in the first "Central Asia — South Korea" summit at the level of heads of state. Following the meeting, the "Seoul Declaration" on cooperation in energy, AI and digitalization is expected to be adopted.
