Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the King and Queen of Belgium in a narrow format. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During the talks, the president noted that the first state visit of the King and Queen of the Belgians to Kazakhstan is a historic event that opens a new stage in bilateral partnership.
The head of state expressed joy at welcoming the guests in Astana.
"I am glad to welcome you in Astana. Your historic visit has generated great public interest. The delegation that arrived in Kazakhstan included representatives of the government and regional authorities, business circles, the academic community and the media. As heir to the throne, you visited Kazakhstan three times. We highly appreciate your intention to develop relations with our country," Tokayev said.
The head of state said he considers Belgium a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in Europe that has stood the test of time. According to him, next year marks 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
