During the meeting, the head of state highly appreciated the successful cooperation with Atlético Madrid and noted that Miguel Ángel Gil Marín's visit to Kazakhstan would help take the partnership to a new level.
"According to the head of state, Kazakhstan is actively investing in modern football infrastructure, a training base and programs for developing young players. In addition, the process of privatizing football clubs in the country continues," the statement said.
Furthermore, the president drew attention to the fact that, together with FIFA, work has begun on building more than 100 new football pitches for children in all regions.
In the course of the conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev particularly noted the achievements of the Spanish national team and the Spanish football school, emphasizing interest in thoroughly studying this best practice and using it to nurture a new generation of talented Kazakh players.
The CEO of Atlético Madrid expressed gratitude to the president for his special attention to supporting football in the country. He spoke positively about the infrastructure of the Atlético Madrid academy in the Almaty region, saying that in the future it will become one of the best football training complexes.
