President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed condolences to the relatives of Ardaq Amirqulov, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize and holder of the "Kurmet" Order, in connection with his passing. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state noted that Ardaq Amirqulov devoted his entire conscious life to the art of cinema and made a significant contribution to the glorification of national culture.
"As a professional filmmaker, he created historical works such as 'The Fall of Otrar', 'Abai', 'Goodbye, Gulsary!', enriching the golden fund of our spirituality. In the development of Kazakh cinematography, he engaged in teaching and raised talented students. May his faith be sound and his soul rest in paradise, for Ardaq Amirqulov left a rich spiritual legacy," the telegram reads.
