Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about observing etiquette in public places at a ceremony for medical workers at the Akorda. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"Another pressing issue. As you know, thanks to large-scale reforms, Kazakhstan has begun to transform into a new type of country. The appearance, character, and worldview of our citizens are changing. But being a rule-of-law state is not just a principle enshrined in the Constitution. Law must begin with everyday life. This means that the behavior, etiquette, discipline, and even character of every person should not contradict the law," Tokayev said.

According to him, citizens of an advanced, modern country must first of all be able to behave appropriately in society, that is, in public places, especially at work.

"Recently, we see that many people allow rude, inappropriate actions even during greetings. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen work in this direction. Looking at the everyday traditions and customs of each nation, foreigners judge how cultured and developed that country is," the president said.

Tokayev noted that to build a civilized state, the culture of the people must be high, and all this begins with observing etiquette in public places and proper behavior. We must widely promote these values and establish new ethical norms in society, the head of state said.
