Kazakhstan is developing an infrastructure modernization plan, and about 6.5 trillion tenge will be allocated from the National Fund until the end of 2029 to implement it. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced this in his address to the people of Kazakhstan.

Economic indicators

According to the forecast by the International Monetary Fund, the country's GDP will reach about 400 billion dollars this year. The per capita figure exceeded 19 thousand dollars.

«Our country will rise to 47th place in the world by economic volume. This means a level higher than that of a number of countries whose populations are much larger than ours,» the president said.

The head of state noted that the volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves and National Fund assets exceeded 130 billion dollars. According to him, this powerful potential must now be directed toward modernizing infrastructure and improving every region of the country.

Infrastructure modernization plan

«Therefore, I instruct the active implementation of the large-scale construction initiative I mentioned earlier. Accordingly, essential social, transport, and engineering infrastructure facilities will be built across the country. The government will develop an unprecedented Infrastructure Modernization Plan. To implement this large-scale work, about 6.5 trillion tenge will be allocated from the National Fund until the end of 2029,» Tokayev said.

In addition, the president noted that 1.5 trillion tenge should be allocated this year and in the first two months of 2027 to launch social projects.

Thus, Kazakhstan is entering a new stage of economic growth — infrastructure modernization. This initiative is aimed at renewing the country's social, transport, and engineering infrastructure.
