President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has given instructions on the construction of the Balkhash and Moyynkum nuclear power plants. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In today's address, the president particularly noted the need to start construction of the Balkhash nuclear power plant next year.
"Also, in order to expedite the start of construction of the Moyynkum nuclear power plant, it is necessary to formalize an agreement on comprehensive cooperation," Tokayev said.
It is worth noting that the first NPP to be built by Russia is named Balkhash, and the second is Moyynkum. Both NPPs will be built on the coast of Lake Balkhash.
