Tom Hardy has decided to surprise fans not with a new role, but with music. The actor has released a rap album together with hip-hop group Czarface, performing under the pseudonym Frankie Pulitzer. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Hardy has long been interested in rap, but until now it remained more of a personal hobby. According to the actor, he started rapping at the age of 14-15 and over the years has recorded a lot of material that he never released.
Now one of these projects has finally reached listeners. On Friday, the album "Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer" was released, recorded by Hardy together with members of the underground hip-hop group Czarface — 7L, Esoteric, and Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang Clan.
Hardy did not limit himself to just recording a few parts. In the songs, he raps and plays with references to comics, film, and literature. The tracks feature Green Goblin, Thor, Doctor Doom, Stephen King, and Shakespeare.
For example, in the track "Raw Forever," the actor mentions the Green Goblin and Willem Dafoe, who played Norman Osborn in Marvel films. In the track "Grim-Visaged War," Hardy recites a monologue from Shakespeare's "Richard III," doing so in a voice reminiscent of his character Bane from "The Dark Knight Rises."
Busta Rhymes and Method Man also took part in the recording of the album. For Hardy, rap is not a casual hobby. As early as 2011, he told the BBC that he had recorded many compositions but had not released them. At that time, the actor admitted that music had always been an important part of his life, although it was not easy to pursue it professionally.
