Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful conduct of the first elections to the Kurultai. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In his congratulatory message, Aliyev said: "I extend to You and Your fraternal people my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the successful conduct of the first elections to the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Kurultai. I express confidence that this important event, symbolizing the beginning of a new historical stage in the socio-political life of Kazakhstan, will serve the comprehensive development of Your country, the continuation of the large-scale reforms You are carrying out, and the implementation of upcoming tasks. I wish the work of the Kurultai success."
According to him, the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is of particular importance. Active and fruitful political dialogue has given impetus to the further strengthening of strategic partnership and filling it with new content.
"I believe that the Azerbaijani-Kazakh friendly relations and strategic partnership built on a sound foundation will continue to develop on an upward trajectory and deepen through our joint efforts in the interests of our peoples. Earlier, Kursiv reported that Tokayev was congratulated by his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov. He expressed hope that the relations of strategic partnership and alliance would continue to be consistently strengthened, filled with new content for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, as well as in the interests of ensuring peace, stability, and development throughout Central Asia.
