President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev approved the creation of the medal 'Shamsi Kaldayakov' and the honorary title 'Honored Artist of Kazakhstan'. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Advisor and press secretary of the head of state Aibek Smadiyarov said that the awards are intended to recognize the merits of citizens who make a special contribution to the development of culture.
Culture as a pillar of national identity
The statement emphasizes that culture and art are the unshakable foundation of our national identity. Therefore, in the new Constitution, comprehensive support for national culture is enshrined at the highest legal level as a fundamental principle of the state.
"In this regard, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, decided to include the medal 'Shamsi Kaldayakov' and the honorary title 'Honored Artist of Kazakhstan' in the list of state awards," Smadiyarov said.
Who will receive the awards?
It is noted that these honorary awards will be given to Kazakhstanis who have made a significant contribution to the development of national culture, including in the fields of music and fine arts.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that on the eve of the birthday of the outstanding Kazakh composer Shamsi Kaldayakov, his image appeared on the Ferris wheel in Astana.
