President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhs on National Dombra Day and wished peace, happiness and prosperity to every family in the republic. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the wonderful holiday – National Dombra Day! This sacred instrument is an integral part of our identity, an invaluable asset that elevates the spirit of the people," the president said.

According to the head of state, this musical instrument helped preserve the connection between eras and generations, as the Dombra is the voice of the nation, which sounds deeply both in joy and in trials, strengthening the spirit and unity of the people.

"In an era of growing global challenges and erosion of traditional values, it is the dombra and the rich heritage of the Great Steppe associated with it that should become the unshakable foundation of Kazakh culture. Our national duty is to introduce the international community to the majestic melodies of the Kazakh Dombra. I believe that the unique aphorism of the outstanding poet Kadyr Myrza Ali 'Nağyz qazaq – Dombyra' ('A true Kazakh is a dombra') should become a guiding star in our work to widely popularize the dombra," Tokayev emphasized.

The president noted that the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and support for national culture are defined as fundamental principles in the new Constitution, which fully corresponds to the goals and interests of the Kazakh people.

"I express my heartfelt gratitude to dombra players, teachers and everyone who develops this unique art in Kazakhstan and worthily represents it abroad. Kazakh kuis and songs will continue to warm the hearts of all compatriots, inspiring us to new achievements in building a Strong and Fair Kazakhstan. I wish peace, happiness and prosperity to every home," the head of state said.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that from July 4 to 6, Kazakhs will have long weekends. In Almaty, a festive program with concerts, festivals and film screenings has been prepared for this occasion.
