Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the opening of the five-star Baku Resort & Spa hotel on the shore of Issyk-Kul. The ceremony took place on July 31 as part of the informal Consultative Meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Together with Tokayev, the new hotel complex was visited by the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The leaders were shown the main facilities of the hotel, rooms and infrastructure for business, cultural and wellness events.
The complex covers 17.2 hectares. It includes a seven-story building with an area of about 30 thousand square meters, which has more than 120 rooms. The territory also includes cottages, a congress hall, a wellness center, a swimming pool, a water park, sports and entertainment facilities, as well as a landscaped coastal area.
Baku Resort & Spa is designed for year-round reception of tourists, official delegations and international events.
The press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan noted that the project was implemented within the framework of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani investment cooperation. It is expected that its launch will create new jobs, attract investment and develop the tourism potential of the Issyk-Kul region.
