The President of Kazakhstan has appointed a new Minister of Emergency Situations. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the decree, Murat Mukhanov has been appointed Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Previously, this position was held by Shyngys Arinov, who had been serving since February 2024.
Who is Murat Mukhanov?
Murat Seitmoldauly was born in 1985 in the Mangystau region. He graduated from the Kokshetau Technical Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan and the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
He began his career in 2006 as a chief specialist in the regulatory and technical department of the Department of State Control and Supervision in Emergency Situations of the Mangystau region.
From 2006 to 2014, he worked in various positions within the Department of Emergency Situations of the Mangystau region.
In 2014–2017, he served as head of the department for control and preventive activities in the field of fire safety of the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangystau region, and then as head of the department for control and preventive activities in the field of fire safety.
In 2017–2020, he was deputy head of the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangystau region.
In 2020–2023, he headed the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangystau region.
In 2023–2024, he served as acting deputy chairman of the Fire Service Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.
In 2024–2026, he was head of the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangystau region of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.
It is noted that earlier Takiyev and Sauranbayev retained their positions in the government.
