In the Kostanay region, search operations on the Tobol River near the village of Nechaevka have ended. Rescuers pulled the bodies of a drowned man and a girl from the water. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the regional emergency department, the search lasted two days. On the first day, divers found and recovered the body of a child. The next day, rescuers found the body of a man.
"During the search operations, specialists walked 2.5 square kilometers of the Tobol coastline. Using drones, about 12.05 hectares of territory were examined, and divers checked 39 thousand square meters of the bottom of the water area," the emergency department said.
The search involved police officers, representatives of local executive bodies, volunteers, and local residents.
According to information spread on social media, the deceased girl was 12 years old. She is described as a well-mannered and modest student, a participant in olympiads and a winner of competitions in engineering modeling.
The circumstances of the incident are being established.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that police are investigating the deaths of two girls on a beach near Astana.
