The draw for the second qualifying round of the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League took place at UEFA headquarters. Kazakhstan Cup winner Tobol will face Lithuanian club Panevezys from the city of the same name. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The matches of the second qualifying stage will be held on July 23 and 30. The Kostanay team will play the first match away.
The draw for the first qualifying round took place the day before. To reach the group stage of the Conference League, Astana and Yelimay need to overcome four qualifying hurdles. Kazakhstan Cup winner Tobol needs to overcome three.
Today's draw determined the potential opponents for Astana, Yelimay, and Kairat in the second qualifying round of the third-tier European competition.
If Astana passes Albanian club Dinamo City in the first round, they will face the winner of the pair Sheriff (Moldova) vs Aluminij (Slovenia) in the next round.
European debutants Yelimay, if they defeat Armenian club Alashkert, will face Romanian club CFR Cluj.
If Kairat fails to overcome Montenegrin club Sutjeska in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, the Almaty team will continue their European campaign in the Conference League qualifiers. They will play either against Belarusian ML Vitebsk or Romanian Universitatea Craiova. In case of victory over the Montenegrins, as previously reported by Kursiv, Kairat will face Cypriot club Omonia.
The group stage matches of the third-tier European competition will take place from October 15 to December 17.
The 2026/27 Conference League final will be held on June 2, 2027, at Besiktas Park Stadium in Istanbul.
The current trophy holder, English club Crystal Palace, won the decisive match against Spanish club Rayo Vallecano on May 27 in Leipzig.
