Kostanay's Tobol suffered a heavy defeat in the first match of the third qualifying round of the 2026/27 Conference League against Partizan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The match in Belgrade ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the hosts.

Tobol started the match actively and created several good attacks in the opening minutes. In the 22nd minute, Miroslav Romashchenko's charges hit the opponent's goal. Askhat Tagybergen found Alexander Zuev with a long pass, who perfectly controlled the ball and shot into the left corner away from the goalkeeper. However, the goal was disallowed due to offside on Zuev – 0:0.

Ten minutes later, the hosts took the lead. After a corner kick, Partizan's Senegalese forward Demba Sek was first to the ball and scored with a volley past Danil Ustimenko – 1:0.

In the 53rd minute, Partizan scored a second goal against Tobol. Erik Koizek was the scorer. But after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to offside on the forward.

However, in the 65th minute, Partizan doubled their lead. Zubairu Ibrahim received a penetrating pass in the box and beat Ustimenko – 2:0.

In the 87th minute, Tobol had a great chance to reduce the deficit. After a interception in midfield, Luis Guerra found himself in a prime scoring position. But the Venezuelan midfielder shot wide.

In stoppage time, Partizan made the score emphatic. Shaka Traore put the final touch – 3:0.

Next Stage

The return match will take place on August 13 in Kostanay. To advance to the next round, Tobol needs to win by a four-goal margin.
