International observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS shared their impressions of the voting process. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Igor Brilevich, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and coordinator of the observer group, noted that the preparation and organization of the elections were carried out at a high level.
"People understand that by electing citizens who protect their interests, they are making an important decision for the future of the country. We have been working in Kazakhstan for several days. We held a number of meetings with the leadership of the Central Election Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the leaders of all political parties. I would like to note that at all stages of preparation for the elections, very extensive and careful work was carried out," the speaker said at a briefing at the Central Election Commission within the framework of an online marathon.
Brilevich added that observers have no doubt that today the people of Kazakhstan will make a worthy choice.
This opinion was supported by Ivan Musket, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council, Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy, Parliamentarism and Observance of Electoral Rights of Citizens of the IPA CIS Member States. He also noted the role of youth in the life of the country and expressed admiration for the youth of Kazakhstan.
