CIS leaders are adopting a resolution on the need to preserve common history. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of CIS leaders in a narrow format. "I said how important the joint efforts of the CIS countries are in protecting our common history and preventing its distortion. Young people should know the truth about the achievements of our peoples during the Soviet Union, about the heroic deeds of our fathers and grandfathers during the Great Patriotic War," the Russian leader noted.

According to him, the resolution on the need to preserve historical memory being adopted today will contribute to this goal. Vladimir Putin also said that the removal of certain national restrictions would allow CIS countries to achieve much higher results.

According to the Russian president, by the end of 2025, trade turnover between Russia and other Commonwealth countries exceeded 110 billion dollars. And in the first half of this year, this figure increased by another 19%.

"Can we move even faster? We are deliberately slowing down the pace of development ourselves," Putin said during the narrow-format meeting.

The summit of CIS heads of state is being held in the "Avaza" national tourist zone in Turkmenistan. Tokayev also arrived at the "Avaza" complex to participate in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.
