Since the beginning of 2026, as part of the fight against illegal trafficking of unregistered medicines and medical devices, 56 administrative protocols have been drawn up and fines totaling 23 million tenge have been imposed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The highest number of violations was recorded in Almaty. There, 15 administrative protocols have been drawn up and fines imposed since the beginning of the year. During the inspection, 49 packages of unregistered medicines in 17 names were identified, and one case was sent to court.
In the Mangystau region, based on citizens' complaints, an unscheduled inspection was conducted in Aktau. The inspection revealed facts of selling medicines without a license and advertising them on social networks. As a result, 219 packages of 16 types of unregistered medicines (total value over 2.5 million tenge) were confiscated. By court decision, a fine was imposed, the products were destroyed, and the activity was temporarily suspended.
Overall, control measures are carried out systematically. For example, in 2025, 162 administrative protocols were drawn up and fines of 77 million tenge were imposed. In addition, control over illegal drug sales via the Internet has been strengthened. In 2025, more than 20 illegal content items were removed, and in 2026, work began to restrict access to 128 Internet resources.
