Aset Zhanabay, a 20-year-old resident of Shetpe village in the Mangystau region, died in the sea. His relatives spoke about the deceased soldier's last request. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The soldier's request was to see his mother. This was told to a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent by the sister of the deceased soldier.

Aset is remembered with special sorrow by both fellow villagers and friends. He treated everyone as a friend, harmed no one, kept to himself, and when he opened his mouth, his heart was visible.

The sister shared the moments when she last saw him.

"He left so young... I used to think there was a solution to every problem, but I can do nothing. My brother had many friends, he always quickly found common ground with people wherever he was, on the road. Regardless of age, he called everyone a friend," says the soldier's sister.

Aset Zhanabay was supposed to complete his duty to the Motherland safely and return to his village on September 3. Five days before his death, the young man turned 20.

"We spoke on September 20. That day our father's uncle held a celebration, he was at that celebration and said goodbye to us, my dear. He said: 'Let me go to mom, see her, see my relatives.' So he said goodbye to all his relatives, that was the last time we saw him, my light, my star," says the sister.

The relative said she could not transfer money for his birthday and laments that her heart is breaking.

"That day was his birthday, and I could not transfer a single coin. Then I thought I would contact him after the 24th. I wanted to send money for the flowers that would arrive tomorrow, saying: 'The salary will come, buy whatever you want.' Your sorrowful news came before you did! Why did I say the 24th, why... Today I received my salary, did I expect such news from my brother," says the sister, her hem wet with tears.

Aset could not swim. Seeing the phone call from the Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent, the relatives were confused.

"When you called, I thought it was Aset. Sometimes he called from unfamiliar numbers. What can I do, I can do nothing, we only embraced his cold body. 4-5 days ago was his birthday, he took leave and when he came to my husband's work, he said he would go into the sea. When my husband said: 'You don't know how to swim,' he replied: 'I will walk along the shore,'" says the sister.

The relatives of the deceased wailed, asking how they could give to the cold embrace of the raw earth a child who since childhood was afraid of the dark and deserted places.
