The Kazakh tenge has topped the list of five currencies that strengthened the most against the US dollar. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Over the month, the tenge appreciated by 5.24%. For example, on September 29, the dollar in Kazakhstan fell to 439.27 tenge after evening trading on the KASE exchange.

The dollar last reached this level in May 2024. On the last day of the month, September 30, the dollar slightly strengthened and stood at 439.37 tenge per US dollar.

The Japanese yen (+2.13%) took second place, while the South Korean won (+1.79%) closed the top three.

The Russian ruble (+1.39%) is in fourth place, followed by the Icelandic króna with a strengthening of 0.69%. The Mexican peso experienced the largest depreciation over the month (-5.57%).

In September, other currencies with negative indicators included the New Zealand dollar, which fell 4.43% against the US dollar, and the Chilean peso, which dropped 4.29%. The Colombian peso (-3.85%) and the Swedish krona (-3.67%) also declined significantly in September.
