A supervisory response center opened in Temirtau, allowing prosecutors to monitor the city around the clock and respond promptly to violations. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the prosecutor's office of Karaganda region, 1,575 cameras installed on streets, in parks, schools, kindergartens, medical institutions and other facilities have been connected to the center's unified video wall.
Areas of work
A separate area of work is related to monitoring the observance of the rights of people held in temporary detention facilities. The prosecutor's office reported that thanks to remote monitoring, eight people have already been released from illegal detention.
In addition, a digital surveillance system has been integrated into the center. Round-the-clock monitoring is carried out by duty prosecutors, and information about detected violations can be processed without leaving the scene.
Crime rate reduction
The prosecutor's office also reported that as a result of the measures taken, the overall crime rate in the city decreased by 28%. The number of especially grave crimes decreased by 50%, and crimes committed by minors - by 87%.
Opening of the center
The opening of the center was attended by Ilyas Ispanov, Head of the Financial Department of the General Prosecutor's Office, Akymzhan Umbitalin, Deputy Head of the Service, Murat Tleuberdiev, prosecutor of Karaganda region, and representatives of city government bodies.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that by the beginning of the school year in Temirtau, 62 life-size figures of schoolchildren were installed near schools and pedestrian crossings. The project was implemented by Qarmet together with the city prosecutor's office.
The figures were placed near educational institutions and on schoolchildren's routes, including near crossings and road signs. Some of the structures are equipped with reflective elements so that drivers can see them better in the dark.
