In Temirtau, the bodies of a 52-year-old man and his 49-year-old wife were found in an apartment. Their 20-year-old son has been detained on suspicion of their murder. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The tragedy occurred on the fifth floor of a residential building. According to neighbors, during the night the woman ran out onto the stairwell, screaming loudly and calling for help. Residents called the police.

To enter the apartment, the door had to be broken down. As the TV channel reported, there were traces of blood inside and in the corridor. Presumably, the young man inflicted six stab wounds on his father and nine on his mother, after which he fled.

"He killed them, closed the door and left. He was caught in the morning. Information went around the house chat that he had been caught. They say he was allegedly dissatisfied with his parents – in the sense that they were restricting his freedom. What freedom, I don't know," said neighbor Yelena Maskayeva.

According to neighbors, the family moved into the building a year and a half ago. The couple seemed calm, and residents describe their son as very quiet and even timid. What happened came as a shock to the neighbors.

The police department of the Karaganda region confirmed the detention of the victims' son.

"During operational-search activities, police officers identified and detained the 20-year-old son suspected of committing this crime. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility," said the official representative of the Karaganda region Police Department, Bakytzhan Kudyiarov.

Officially, the causes and possible motive for the murder have not yet been reported.
