Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the launch of the built-in cryptocurrency wallet Gram Wallet. The new feature will be available to messenger users this summer. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Durov, this is the largest implementation of a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet in history. After launch, over a billion Telegram users will be able to use the service.
"This summer, a large-scale implementation of a non-custodial crypto wallet will take place, which will be the biggest in human history," said Pavel Durov.
The Telegram founder also noted that users will be able to make cryptocurrency transfers instantly and without fees.
"Instant crypto transactions without fees for over a billion users are about to become a reality. We are introducing our own Gram wallet, which will be available in every Telegram app!" Durov announced.
Gram Wallet is expected to be built directly into the Telegram app, so users will not need to install separate services to work with cryptocurrency. Details about supported digital assets and the exact launch date have not yet been disclosed.
