Repair of 19 km of road on Konayev Street in Tekeli has been completed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Akim of Zhetysu region Beibit Isabayev familiarized himself with the results of the work during a trip to the city. Repair of Konayev Street, the longest in Tekeli, began in April last year at the request of residents.
According to the city's akim Almas Adil, the work was completed on June 1. Capital repairs were carried out on 6 km of the street, and medium repairs on another 13 km. Last year, lighting poles were installed on 21 city streets, including Konayev Street.
After the inspection, Isabayev instructed representatives of the organization "Zhol aktivteri sapasynyn ulttyk ortalygy" to check the quality of the road before accepting the facility.
Public activists of Tekeli also noted that they are monitoring the development of the city's road infrastructure.
"Konayev Street is our main street, 38 kilometers long. For many years, residents have raised the issue of the need for its repair. Taking into account the wishes of the population, since last year, capital repairs have been carried out on the section from the entrance to the city to the new bridge, and medium repairs from the bridge to the 2nd cordon. Today, construction work is completed, we see the results. Now both residents and tourists are satisfied," said city resident Elena Moiseeva.
She also noted that pedestrian paths have been laid in the city and more comfortable conditions are being created for residents.
According to the akimat, in recent years, roads of republican significance in the Zhetysu region have been completely repaired. In addition, thanks to ongoing projects, by the end of 2026, the share of regional roads in good condition should reach 96%. The akimat notes that this is one of the highest rates in the republic.
Also this year, significant funds are provided for the repair of local roads.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on the northern bypass road of Shymkent, the road surface was deformed due to abnormally high air temperatures.
