Mother of many children arrested for husband's murder in Tekeli: neighbors report years of abuse

In the city of Tekeli, Zhetysu region, the murder of a man is under investigation, and his wife has been detained on suspicion of committing the crime. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The incident was reported by the "NeMolchi" foundation. According to the organization, the woman is a mother of many children and is currently in a pre-trial detention center awaiting trial.

Residents of Tekeli who contacted the foundation claim that the family lived in conditions of domestic violence for many years.

"We understand the seriousness of the tragedy and are not trying to justify what happened. However, we ask to pay attention to the circumstances in which this woman and her children lived for many years," the appeal says.

According to neighbors, the woman's husband regularly returned home intoxicated, started quarrels, insulted family members, and used physical force.

"Screams, children's crying, and the noise of arguments were constantly heard from the house," the appeal notes.

Residents also recounted an episode when the woman allegedly ran to neighbors asking to call the police. According to them, her husband soon appeared, behaving aggressively and threatening his wife.

Furthermore, neighbors claim they repeatedly witnessed other cases of abuse. In particular, in winter, the man allegedly broke windows in the house, and the family had to insulate the home themselves during the cold season.

According to the authors of the appeal, the woman spoke about injuries sustained from beatings, as well as cases of violence during pregnancy. They also claim that the husband kicked his wife and children out into the street in winter, threatened them, and created a constant danger for the family.

Meanwhile, the police reported that a criminal case has been opened regarding the man's death.

"A criminal case has been opened on this fact. The investigation has established that the fatal wound was inflicted by the wife during joint consumption of alcoholic beverages," the police reported.

The circumstances of the incident are being established as part of the investigation.
