American singer Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 (23.3 million tenge) to a woman from Rhode Island who suffered severe injuries while trying to save teenagers after a highway accident. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The crash occurred on July 18 during a heavy downpour on Interstate 95 in Hopkinton. Ashley Taunton saw a car with teenagers lose control and veer off the road; she stopped and ran to help the victims.

While she was helping them out, another car also lost control and headed straight toward them. According to Ashley's husband, at the last moment she pushed one of the teenagers out of the way and took the hit herself.

As a result, Taunton suffered a severe leg injury and serious internal damage. Her small and large intestines were affected, and she sustained lacerations to her liver and diaphragm, causing one lung to collapse. She had to undergo at least three surgeries.

Throughout this time, Ashley documented her recovery on social media. She posted photos from the hospital where she was in a medically induced coma, and later showed herself returning home with a leg brace.

Ashley learned about Swift's donation on Friday and admitted she did not expect such help. On social media, she called the singer's act incredible and thanked her for the support.

The $50,000 donation will go toward medical expenses for the woman who risked her life to pull others out of a dangerous situation.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will have a wedding with 1,000 guests.
