On the Tasotkel reservoir in the Shu district of the Zhambyl region, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations rescued a man who ended up in the water after a boat capsized. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the agency, a group of Kyrgyz citizens went fishing on a watercraft. After some time, a report of the incident on the reservoir was received by the rescue service.

While patrolling the water area, the operational rescue team immediately proceeded to the scene.

"The boat capsized, and one of the fishermen ended up in the water," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The rescuers quickly located the man and brought him aboard. He did not require medical assistance.

"Due to strong wind, I was carried away from the shore, then the boat capsized. I was swimming to the shore when MES employees noticed me. They quickly came to help and pulled me out of the water. Many thanks to the rescuers," the victim said.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds residents and guests of the region to strictly observe safety rules on water bodies, use life jackets, and refrain from going out on the water in adverse weather conditions.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that an MES employee set a new Kazakhstan record by pulling a 165-ton wagon.

It was also reported that in the Akmola region, rescuers responded to an unusual call: a magpie chick needed help.
