Former statesman and journalist, 70-year-old Amantai Dandygalov, has been placed on the international wanted list. This was announced by journalist Mikhail Kozachkov on his Telegram channel. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan confirmed the information about the search for the elderly man to Kursiv. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"The Almaty Police Department is investigating a criminal case on fraud. On July 7, the suspect in this crime was put on the wanted list. Other information is not subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation and operational-search activities," the department commented.

It is known that Amantai Dandygalov previously held the position of head of the apparatus of the Almaty akimat during the period when the city was headed by Imangali Tasmagambetov. Later, Dandygalov worked as the editor-in-chief of the publication Novaya Gazeta – Kazakhstan.
