The proceedings in the case against former Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Kamchybek Tashiyev and other participants in the "Case 75" continue. The next hearing took place today, June 29, at the Pervomaisky District Court in Bishkek. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In addition to the former security chief, the defendants include ex-Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev, ex-Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, and other high-ranking officials from the past. It is worth noting that the process was again declared closed due to secrecy.
Before entering the courtroom, the former Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh commented to journalists on the statements of current Speaker Marlen Mamataliev. Earlier, Mamataliev claimed that the composition of parliament and its leadership were allegedly determined before the elections.
"These are all fairy tales. Now it seems that he himself was the main participant in all these processes. He says something, but during the trial it turns out that everything was not as he claims. None of his statements correspond to reality," said Turgunbek uulu.
He also refuted claims that "political agreements" were allegedly reached after the elections in the Aksy district:
"These were elections. The next day, the deputies returning from there to Bishkek gathered, congratulated each other, drank a cup of tea, and dispersed. There was no politics there."
The ex-speaker emphasized that the distribution of leadership positions in parliament occurred only after the issuance of deputy mandates. He also responded to accusations of attempting to seize power.
"You yourselves understand: how can I, being in power, seize power myself? How can I take it away from myself? If, as you say, I was the second person in the state, then such accusations look simply absurd," Turgunbek uulu stated emotionally.
Last week, Mamataliev made a series of revelations about the pressure and threats he endured during the period of Tashiyev and Turgunbek uulu's rule. According to the current speaker, during the election campaign and even after receiving his mandate, he "suffered greatly" from the actions of influential officials.
Among other things, the current speaker linked the recent wave of mass and strange resignations of Jogorku Kenesh deputies to the same behind-the-scenes pressure and criminal cases. He emphasized that the system of distributing mandates in Kyrgyzstan needs to be radically changed.
