Specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan conducted monitoring of riverbeds, hydraulic structures, landslide and mudflow-prone areas after the earthquake 413 km west of Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

A visual inspection of life-support facilities was also carried out for possible damage.

"According to the inspection results, no damage was detected; currently, these facilities are operating normally. No information on destruction or casualties has been received. The situation is stable," the ministry noted.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that an earthquake was recorded on July 4 at 4:40 a.m. Astana time. The epicenter was located in Kazakhstan, 413 km west of Almaty.

Residents of Taraz felt the earthquake.

"Seismic intensity: Taraz 2 points. No information on casualties or destruction has been received," the ministry's statement said.

Recall that in the Almaty region, after heavy rainfall, the water level in the Turgen River rose, leading to the evacuation of tourists, and later a river in the Kaskelen Gorge destroyed a bridge.

Today, forecasters again predict heavy rain and strong winds in the Almaty, Zhambyl, and Zhetisu regions. Light rain is possible in the Kyzylorda, Turkestan, and East Kazakhstan regions.
