On July 4 at 4:40 AM Astana time, seismologists registered an earthquake. The epicenter is located in Kazakhstan, 413 km west of Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The earthquake was felt by residents of Taraz.

"Information on perceptibility: Taraz 2 points. No information on casualties or destruction has been received," the ministry's statement said.

Earlier, Kursiv reported on an earthquake that occurred on June 27 at 6:34 PM Astana time.

According to seismologists, the epicenter of that earthquake was located in Afghanistan.

Tremors with an estimated intensity of 2 points were recorded in Shymkent, as well as in a number of settlements in Turkestan and Zhambyl regions.

In Turkestan region, the earthquake was felt by residents of Myrzakent, Zhetysai, Abai, Saryagash, Shardara, Kazygurt, Lenger, Sairam, Mankent, Aksukent, Turar Ryskulov, Arys, Temirlanovka, Shaulder and Shayan.

In Zhambyl region, tremors were felt in Taraz, as well as in the villages of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Sarykemer, Asa, Kulan, Merke and the city of Karatau.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no information on casualties or destruction has been received.
