In Taraz, World War II veteran Gennady Ivanov turned 100 years old. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Military personnel, relatives, close friends, and acquaintances gathered to congratulate the veteran on his centenary. Gennady Ivanovich personally welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude for their good wishes.

The veteran's combat journey began at the age of 17. During the war, he reached Berlin and continued his military service after the Victory.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan: "The veteran sincerely thanked the guests for their special attention and warm words. He noted that meeting with military personnel always evokes special feelings in him, because military brotherhood forever remains an integral part of his life."
