A baby was found in a canal in the Uly Dala district of Taraz. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred three days ago. According to witnesses, the body of a newborn girl was noticed by a child playing near the canal.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 100 of the Criminal Code.
Police officers are conducting operational-search measures to identify the child's mother.
