Court No. 2 of Taraz sentenced a man who distributed psychotropic substances through hidden caches. He received 2,000 tenge per 'stash' to a cryptocurrency wallet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to case materials, in December 2025, the man contacted an unknown curator via Telegram and agreed to distribute drugs. He picked up parcels from caches and placed them in new locations in Taraz.
In February 2026, the man received a parcel in Almaty containing 37 zip bags with α-PVP and transported them to Taraz. After he placed one of the parcels in a cache in the Shanyrak area, he was detained by police. During a search, 11.58 grams of psychotropic substance were seized from him.
The sanction of Part 3 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code provides for 7 to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The prosecutor asked to sentence the man to 5 years and 4 months of imprisonment, taking into account the Amnesty Law.
"The court found the man guilty of illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances in especially large quantities for the purpose of sale, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. He was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment. Taking into account the Amnesty Law, the final term was 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment," the court's press service reported.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
Earlier, Kursiv reported on how a family of drug couriers was convicted in Kokshetau. With a difference of only six days, verdicts were passed on a 20-year-old girl and her father. The daughter received a real sentence, while the father, who was detained with 30 parcels of synthetic drugs, had his sentence postponed.
