Information spread on social media that a lawyer's car was shot at in the city of Taraz. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Police Department of Zhambyl Region commented on the incident. According to lawyer Lola Vrublevskaya, as she was approaching her car, she heard a sound similar to a gunshot. Later, she saw a hole in her car window and immediately called the police.
The police determined that it was not a gunshot but a shot from a slingshot. "On the fact of damage to someone else's property, police officers identified two offenders and brought them to administrative responsibility. They were playing with a slingshot and accidentally hit the car window," said the Police Department of Zhambyl Region.
The police warned against believing false information.
