The Ministry of Internal Affairs has solved 17 cases of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, including four cases resulting in the death of victims. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

For example, in Pavlodar region, a crime causing death committed four years ago has been solved. In September 2022, the body of a local resident was found in one of the private houses in the village of Sharbakty. There were multiple signs of injuries on his body.

"Despite the operational and investigative measures, it was not possible to solve the crime hot on the heels. In 2026, as a result of the careful work of police officers, additional operational search activities and a full check of the deceased's social circle, the suspect was identified. He turned out to be an acquaintance of the deceased," the message says.

The investigation established that on the day of the incident, the men were drinking alcohol together. During a quarrel that arose, the suspect inflicted bodily injuries on the victim, from which he died.

On February 9, based on the collected evidence, the suspect confessed his guilt and was placed in a temporary detention facility. In March, by the verdict of the Sharbakty District Court of Pavlodar region, he was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison.
