Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova called on the international community to give a proper assessment of the attacks on the facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"We support the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, which strongly condemned the attack on a civilian facility. We consider this attack as another proof of Kyiv's desire to further destabilize the global oil market," the statement said.
Zakharova noted that there is no doubt that Kyiv is behind the attacks on tankers near the CPC. According to her, this is the fifth attack on CPC facilities.
The consortium unites major oil and energy companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, the United States, and a number of European countries.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Moscow regards the attack as a "terrorist act" and condemns all parties involved in its organization and execution.
"The international community must give a proper assessment to another war crime committed by the Zelensky regime," Zakharova said.
According to her, the lack of an "adequate response" from the international community will be perceived by Moscow as support for Kyiv's policies.
About 80% of Kazakhstan's exported oil is transported via the CPC pipeline.
