Kazakh taekwondo athlete Temirlan Tileules became champion at the XX Summer Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the athlete, competing in the weight category up to 58 kilograms, defeated K. Barbosa from the Philippines in the final to win the gold medal.

Thus, Temirlan Tileules brought Kazakhstan's team its 12th gold medal at the Asian Games.

This is Kazakhstan's first gold medal in men's taekwondo in the history of the Asian Games.

It is worth noting that the XX Summer Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya will continue until October 4.
