Police recommend not accepting unknown items from strangers. "It is strictly prohibited to accept parcels, packages and other items from strangers for storage or transportation, even for monetary reward. Credulity and lack of caution can lead to a person being involved in a crime as an accomplice and to serious consequences," said Farabi Yelubayev, head of the department for combating drug crime.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, the transport police department has identified and suppressed 27 cases of drug smuggling at the airports of Astana and Almaty. About 98 kg of drugs, equivalent to approximately 180 thousand single doses, were seized from illegal circulation.
