A premature Kazakh baby was saved by doctors in Thailand. After two months of treatment, the infant was discharged from the hospital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Health, little Aslan Aliyev was transported at the age of 1 month and 18 days by sanitary aviation to the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery in Almaty. His condition was severe, and his weight was very low.
"Doctors timely detected a hidden intestinal perforation that threatened the baby's life and performed an emergency operation," the statement said. During treatment, Aslan's weight increased by 1200 grams and now reaches 2500 grams.
Currently, the baby breathes independently without oxygen support, feeds naturally, and intestinal function is gradually recovering. According to the ministry, the expensive medical care was provided to the infant free of charge at the state's expense.
It is worth noting that Kazakhstan is the only country in Central Asia where sanitary aviation is fully integrated into the national emergency medical care system. This system allows not only evacuating patients but also sending specialized medical teams to regions to provide complex medical care locally.
