Thailand is cutting the visa-free stay for citizens of several countries from 60 to 30 days. Kazakhstan is among them. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Changes take effect on September 15
According to information distributed by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Thailand, the 60-day visa-free regime will end on September 15.
From that date, the provisions of the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Thailand on exempting holders of national passports from visa requirements will apply.
30 days visa-free, no more than 90 days per 180 days
"Under the agreement, Kazakh citizens may stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 30 calendar days from the date of entry, while the total stay within each 180-day period must not exceed 90 calendar days," the official statement says.
What those planning a trip should do
In this regard, Kazakh citizens planning a trip to Thailand should take the latest changes into account. Those who intend to stay there for more than 30 days must obtain the appropriate visa in advance.
