The Ministry of Energy has started developing a Roadmap to achieve an 80% gasification level. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The Roadmap being developed will become a key strategic document for accelerating the country's gasification. In 2026, as a result of the implementation of gas transport infrastructure development projects, about 36,000 more residents will gain access to natural gas.

According to the ministry, in 2025, as a result of 84 projects in the gas supply sector, over 354,000 residents of 94 settlements gained access to natural gas. During the year, 2,000 kilometers of gas distribution networks were built. As a result, 13.1 million out of 20.5 million people have access to natural gas.

The Roadmap will significantly increase the share of the population supplied with natural gas, improve the quality of life of citizens, and give additional impetus to the sustainable socio-economic development of the regions.
