On September 7, four forest fires were registered on the territory of the state forest fund in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the country's Ministry of Ecology, all fires were quickly localized and completely extinguished.
Two fires occurred in Kostanay region, one each in East Kazakhstan region and on the territory of the Kokshetau National Natural Park.
"The fire sources were detected in a timely manner thanks to aerial patrols by the Republican State Enterprise 'Kazavialesookhrana' and constant monitoring by the state forest protection service. Forest protection workers, firefighting airborne units, helicopters and special equipment were involved in extinguishing. The fire was not allowed to spread over a large area," the ministry reported.
The Ministry of Ecology clarified that as of this hour, the forest fire situation in the country is stable and under control.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that two helicopters were involved in extinguishing a natural fire in East Kazakhstan region.
Geography of fires
Two separate fire sources were recorded in Kostanay region. Each of them occurred on the territory of local forestry enterprises. The fire in East Kazakhstan also occurred in the forest fund. The fire on the territory of the Kokshetau National Park threatened the ecosystem of the national park, but thanks to prompt actions it was prevented.
Extinguishing works
According to ministry representatives, local forest protection workers and special aviation units were involved in extinguishing. Helicopters dropped water to help suppress the flames. Special equipment was used to create firebreaks and carry out work on the ground.
"There was no threat of fire spread, as the sources were detected immediately and urgent measures were taken," the ministry noted.
Situation under control
Currently, the forest fire situation across the country is stable. Specialists continue monitoring to prevent natural fires. Citizens are advised to follow fire safety rules in forests.
This incident once again highlights the importance of protecting forest resources and responding promptly to natural disasters. Government agencies are working in an enhanced mode during the fire season.
