The leadership of the Ministry of Transport, during a working trip to the West Kazakhstan region, checked the pace of modernization of the Syrym automobile checkpoint on the Kazakhstan-Russia border. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This is one of the largest cargo checkpoints between the two countries and an important link in the international automobile corridor.
Based on the inspection results, the contractor organization and responsible services were instructed to ensure a sufficient amount of necessary equipment, labor, and construction materials.
A specific task was set – to complete the modernization of the checkpoint by the end of 2026, without reducing quality and safety requirements.
The progress of the work, compliance with the approved schedule, and the implementation of intermediate stages are under special control of the Ministry of Transport, the ministry's statement said.
In addition, special attention was paid to organizing the movement of freight transport on the access roads to the border.
