In the Turkistan region, the bodies of two men who drowned in the Syr Darya river have been found. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The tragic incident occurred near the village of Ushkayyk. On August 22, two brothers born in 1998 and 2002 were swimming in a prohibited area.

When the younger one began to drown, the older brother tried to save him.

But both drowned.

About 90 people, special equipment, swimming aids, and a drone were involved in the search for the bodies.

"On August 24, at a distance of about 6 kilometers from the swimming site, the body of a man born in 2002 was found and pulled out of the water.

And on August 25, during search operations, at a distance of about 30 kilometers from the scene, the body of the second man born in 1998 was found on the water surface," rescuers said.

The Emergency Situations Department urges citizens not to swim in prohibited areas and to follow safety requirements.
